1. Star Trek V: The Final Frontier [Blu-Ray] (1989)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I will gladly acknowledge the many flaws of Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, but I think its foes too quickly dismiss its positives. It remains possibly the most introspective and deepest of the Trek flicks, and that tone makes it interesting. Starring William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy. Paramount, $9.99, 4/30/2013.

4. Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (Special Edition) (1989)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a reissue, this new Frontier is a success. It improves upon the prior DVD’s picture and extras; the audio remains the same, but since the old disc already sounded great, that wasn’t a problem. I definitely think fans who own the prior release will want to upgrade to this new one; even those who don’t care about supplements will benefit from the improv

5. Star Trek: The Original Series - Season One (1966)
"Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Original Series remains my favorite of the Trek programs, and I definitely recommend this Season One package of the show. With a list price of $130, the set doesn’t come cheap, though compared with the $300 it would have cost to get the 29 episodes on the old two-show DVDs, it seems like a bargain. Starring William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy. Paramount.

6. Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home [Blu-Ray] (1986)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a film, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home offers intermittent pleasures but suffers from a number of problems. Most of those can be traced to the performance of its lead guest actress, but it also falters due to an overly comedic tone and much out of character behavior. Still, even erratic Trek remains enjoyable. Starring William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy.

8. Star Trek: Fan Collective - Captain's Log (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While prior Star Trek “Fan Collective” compilations focused on specific guest characters, races or themes, Captain’s Log lacks the same coherence. Nonetheless, I like the way it spans all five series and digs into the efforts of all the captains. It certainly offers a solid roster of shows, as most of them stand amount the best Trek. Starring William Sha

9. Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (Special Collector's Edition) (1991)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Arguably the best Star Trek flick, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country has lost a little luster over the last 12 or so years. Nonetheless, most of it works nicely, and it remains probably the most exciting and fun of the series’ movies. Starring William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy. Paramount, $19.99, 1/27/2004.
